Invitation to Bid for Timber Sale

The Town of Rumford is planning to harvest 90 acres of marked wood trees, at the Town Farm Lot, Map 103; Lot 01. This lot is north of Mountain Valley High School, and on the westerly side of Scotty’s Brook, near Swift River Park off Route 120.

A project showing will be held on Monday, Oct 16 at 10:00 AM at the harvest site, and again on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 3:00 pm.

Directions: from the south beginning at the light at the intersection of Route 2 and Hancock Street/ Route 120, go north on Hancock Street/ Route 120 about 7 tenths of a mile where you will see the main entrance to Mountain Valley High School. Continue north on Route 120 about 3 tenths of a mile to a small entrance on the left, called the Pump House Road. This entrance is just before Route 120 crosses over Scotty’s Brook. Meet at the edge of the field.

Bid Packages can be picked up at the site on Monday, Oct. 16 at 10:00 AM, or on Wednesday Oct. 18 at 3:00 pm, or downloaded from the Town of Rumford website, or they can be picked up at the Rumford Town Manager’s office at 145 Congress Street, Rumford, Me 04276.  Sealed bids will be due by Monday October 30, at 2:00 PM, by mail or in person at the Rumford Town Manager’s Office at 145 Congress Street, Rumford, Maine 04276.

 At 2:00 pm, on October 30, at the Town Office Auditorium the bids will be opened. Winning bid will be selected at the November 2nd Select Board Meeting.
