NOTICE is hereby given that the Town of Rumford is accepting applications for Poland Spring Community Benefits Fund Committee Members.

The mission of the Fund is to accept and invest donations from Nestle Waters made pursuant to the Community Benefits Agreement and use the interest from such investments to fund community projects that benefit Rumford, such as but not limited to source water protection, health and welfare, and recreation.

The Committee shall consist of five (5) voting members appointed by the Board of Selectmen for a term of three (3) years, each of whom shall be a resident of Rumford. For the initial Committee, the Selectmen shall designate two (2) members whose terms shall end after one (1) year, two (2) members whose terms shall end after two (2) years, and one member whose term shall end after three (3) years. After these initial terms, all Committee members shall serve three (3) year terms upon appointment. Members shall consult periodically with both the Finance Director and Town Treasurer regarding the management of the Fund. Members shall meet quarterly or as called by the Chairperson. Regular meetings shall also be held as provided the Ordinances of the Town.

No voting member of the Committee shall maintain employment with the Town of Rumford during his or her term.

The Committee shall manage the Fund only in a manner consistent with prudent investing principles. The Committee shall have such powers and duties as may be granted and imposed by the provisions of the adopted by-laws and the ordinances of the Town. The Committee shall take actions by a majority vote, in awarding grants from the Fund.

Notice is hereby given that the Municipal Officers will hold a Dangerous Building Hearing on November 14, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Rumford Falls Auditorium of the Municipal Building to determine whether the building located at: 

551 Prospect Avenue, Rumford, Maine 04276, Map 124 Lot 120 is dangerous or a nuisance. 

20 Byron Street, Rumford Maine 04276, Map 113 Lot 279 is dangerous or a nuisance. 

The properties are of the current Tax Maps of the Town of Rumford, Maine on file at 145 Congress Street, and is a dangerous or a nuisance within the meaning of 17 M.R.S.A. § 2851.
