The second installment of the 2020 Fiscal Year Real Estate and Personal Property Tax is due on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
Payments may be made in person or by mail addressed to the Tax Collector, Town of Rumford, 145 Congress Street, Rumford, ME 04276 and payable to the Town of Rumford. If paying by mail, please enclose the payment stub from the tax bill, or as much information as possible on the account (acct#, address, map/lot, etc.) If requesting a receipt, enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope. INTEREST AT 7% PER ANNUM CHARGED STARTING THE DAY AFTER EACH DUE DATE.
The 2020-2021 Transfer Station Decals are now available.
Previously issued decals will expire on December 31, 2019.
The Northern Oxford Regional Solid Waste Facility Transfer Station requires legal residents who are property owners to show a transfer station decal when dropping off items. Guidelines and fees for the disposal of various types of waste are available at rumfordme.org
. Transfer Station stickers are available at the Rumford Town Office at no cost to legal residents who are property owners. Please provide your license plate number and make of vehicle.
In accordance with state law, LD 917 amended, “An Act Increasing Municipal Agent Fees for motor Vehicle Fees”, The Town of Rumford has adjusted the BMV Agent Fees effective November 1, 2019.
A $5.00 Agent Fee will be collected for each re-registration and $6.00 for each new registration issued to residents of the municipality.
This Agent Fee can avoided by completing the registration at the Motor Vehicle Branch Office where there is no agent fee required.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will be removing the buried tank on Lowell Street behind the Hotel Harris building beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
Lowell Street will be blocked off at Hartford Street on the morning of Tuesday, October 15, 2019 until the removal is complete. The street closure is anticipated to last at least one week. Updates will be posted on the Town’s website and Facebook page.
